The Roofing RIB Company team came out to look at our roof since we had a few leaks. He was really professional and explained the whole roof structure and what caused the leak. We ended up replacing the whole roof because it was almost 35 years old; the price was reasonable compared to the other quotes we got. Would definitely recommend Roofing RIB Company.

Roof Repair & Leak Repair
in Sherman Oaks & the Valley
Leak detection, flashing and shingle repairs, flat-roof patches and emergency dry-ins across the San Fernando Valley, with a free inspection and a written price before any work starts.
Roof repair cost in the San Fernando Valley (2026): $350–$1,200 for most leak and flashing repairs; emergency dry-in from $250. Most repairs are done the same day or within two days; emergency tarp or dry-in within hours.
The leak is rarely where the stain is: water travels under shingles and along rafters, so every repair starts with a free inspection that finds the real entry point before anyone quotes a price. Roofing RIB Company is based in Sherman Oaks and answers emergency leak calls across the Valley.
Roofing RIB Company repairs roofs across Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Studio City, Encino, North Hollywood, Burbank and the rest of the Valley: leak detection, flashing at chimneys, skylights and walls, lifted or missing shingles, cracked tile and failed underlayment, torch-down and TPO patches, and emergency tarps when it is raining. Free inspection, written price before work starts. Active leak? Call (818) 619-2948.
Fix the Cause,
Not the Stain
A ceiling stain in a Valley house is usually ten feet from the actual leak. Water comes in at a cracked pipe boot, a rusted valley, a chimney counter-flashing that has pulled away from the stucco, or a torch-down seam over the garage conversion, then runs along the underlayment and the rafters until it finds drywall. Patching where the stain is wastes your money and ours.
So every repair from Roofing RIB Company starts on the roof, not in the living room. We walk the slopes, check every penetration and transition, look at the attic side where we can get to it, and run water if the source is not obvious. Then you get a written price for the actual fix: new flashing set into the stucco, a replaced valley, a resealed skylight curb, a properly welded TPO patch, a section of shingle or tile replaced with matching material.
We will also tell you when a repair is the wrong answer. A 30-year-old shingle roof with three active leaks and brittle tabs does not need a fourth patch; it needs a replacement, and we would rather quote that honestly than take a repair fee twice. Roughly a third of the repair calls we inspect end up as a repair-and-monitor plan rather than a replacement, which is the point of inspecting first.
When it is actively raining we dry the roof in first: tarps, sealant and temporary flashing to stop the water that day, credited toward the permanent repair when we come back in dry weather to do it properly.

Every Kind of
Valley Leak
Leak Detection & Diagnosis
Roof walk, attic check and water testing to find the real entry point, with photos of what we found and what it will take to fix it.
Flashing at Chimneys, Walls & Skylights
New step and counter-flashing cut into the stucco or mortar, new skylight curbs and saddles, the places most Valley leaks actually start.
Shingle & Tile Repairs
Lifted, cracked or missing shingles replaced with matching material; broken tiles swapped and the underlayment beneath them repaired, not just the tile.
Flat & Low-Slope Patches
Torch-down seams rewelded, TPO patches heat-welded, ponding areas and failed scuppers corrected on the flat sections over garages and additions.
Storm, Wind & Debris Damage
Ridge caps and shingles lifted by Santa Ana winds, punctures from fallen branches, dated photos and a written report if you are filing an insurance claim.
Emergency Dry-In
Tarps and temporary sealing during rain so the interior stops taking water, credited toward the permanent repair.
Where Valley
Roofs Leak
Different neighborhoods leak in different places. The 1950s ranches in Van Nuys and Valley Glen leak at the valleys and at the flat torch-down sections where a garage conversion or enclosed patio meets the main roof. The bungalows in Valley Village and North Hollywood leak at old brick chimneys whose counter-flashing has been caulked instead of replaced. The larger homes in Encino, Tarzana and Toluca Lake leak under tile where the original felt underlayment has turned to dust after 30 summers. And the hillside houses in Studio City and Sherman Oaks leak at skylights and dormers that face the weather.
Heat is the common cause. Valley roof surfaces run 20 to 30 degrees hotter than the coast, sealants fail early, and the first heavy rain after a long dry summer exposes every weak point at once. If you can get a roof inspected in September or October, you choose when the repair happens; if you wait for the first storm, the roof chooses for you.
Roof Repair
Planning Ranges (2026)
| Scope | Planning range | What's included |
|---|---|---|
| Leak or flashing repair | $350–$1,200 | Locate the source, replace damaged shingles or membrane, reseal or replace flashing at a chimney, skylight, vent or wall. Tile and flat roofs sit toward the top of the range. |
| Emergency tarp / dry-in | $250–$600 | Temporary cover during rain so the interior stops taking water; credited toward the permanent repair when we do it. |
| Storm or wind damage repair | $850–$1,750 | Lifted or torn shingles, damaged ridge caps and flashing after a wind event; the Los Angeles estimator range. |
| Larger repair or section re-roof | $1,500 and up | Rotted decking, a failed flat section or a repeat leak that needs a section rebuilt rather than a patch; quoted after inspection. |
Planning ranges compiled from the published cost guides listed below; the repair guides are national figures, and Los Angeles labor rates sit above the national average. Tile, metal and flat roofs cost more to repair than shingle. The written price after a free inspection is the real number.
- RoofVista, Roof Repair Cost Guide 2026: leak repair $300–$1,000, flashing $300–$700, emergency tarp $200–$500 on shingle; tile, metal and flat roofs 20–60% higher
- Contractor+ cost estimator, Repair Storm Damaged Roof, Los Angeles: $858–$1,715 including materials and labor
- Fox Haven Roofing, roof repair pricing (2026): leak repair $300–$600, flashing $200–$600; urban labor rates higher
Three Steps.
No Surprises.
Free Roof Inspection
A roofer, not a salesperson, walks every slope, checks the flashing, penetrations and attic side, and photographs what they find. You get a straight answer on repair versus replacement.
Written Quote
An itemized written quote for the roof repair and leak repair: tear-off, decking allowance, underlayment, covering, flashing, vents, permit and haul-away. The price in the quote is the price on the invoice unless you change the scope.
Permit, Build, Inspect
We pull the permit, protect the property, complete the work in the quoted window and schedule the final inspection. You get the closed permit and the material warranty paperwork at the end.
Stop the Leak,
Then Fix It Right
Tell us where the water is showing up and when it started. A roofer will call back to schedule the inspection, or to come out today if it is raining.

Thanks for your services, I will recommend!
I've had many roofers come to check my roof and got a wide variety of quotes, sales gimmicks and outright lies. This company was nothing like that. They called right back when I asked for a quote and made an appointment. When they showed up, they took measurements, explained their process, and gave me a copy of their insurance and bond documents, and a clear and simple contract that made sense. They came on the agreed day and finished the job quickly and efficiently. It looks good.
Questions We Hear
About Roof Repair
Planning range for 2026: $350–$1,200 for most leak and flashing repairs; emergency dry-in from $250. A single flashing or shingle repair sits at the low end; a repair that involves rotted decking or a failed flat section costs more because the roof has to be opened. You get a written price after a free inspection, before any work.
Call (818) 619-2948. During rain we prioritize active leaks and dry the roof in the same day with tarps and temporary flashing; the permanent repair follows in dry weather and the dry-in cost is credited toward it.
We inspect from the roof and the attic. Most Valley leaks start at a flashing, a penetration or a valley rather than in the field of the roof, and the stain inside is usually downhill of the entry point. When the source is not obvious we water-test slope by slope until it shows.
A roof under 15 years old with one or two isolated leaks is a repair. A roof past 25 years with brittle shingles, several leaks or a flat section that has been patched repeatedly is usually a replacement, because each repair buys months rather than years. We give you both numbers when it is close.
Small repairs generally do not. When a repair becomes a section re-roof, the LADBS express permit rules for re-roofing apply and we pull the permit like a replacement. In Burbank the City treats reroofing as a Tier 1 permit.
Sudden damage from wind, hail or a fallen tree is usually covered; wear and age are not. We document storm damage with dated photos and a written report you can send to the adjuster, and we can meet the adjuster on the roof.
